A SENSE OF PLACE
After returning from my world wanderings in 1976 I settled in the Howqua Valley in Victoria’s North East. Along with a partner I started the Howqua Dale Gourmet Retreat, a retreat that would celebrate food, wine, cooking and environment successfully for the next 28 years.
There are two beautiful houses set in the riverside garden at Howqua Dale. The RIVERHOUSE is now available for your visit. Let it be a few days or as long as you wish, come stay as a group, family, couple or solo.
The garden, tennis court and swimming pool are here for your enjoyment. Further afield there are wonderful walks, drives, gentle river banks for picnics, ski fields, fly fishing, horse riding, wineries and good restaurants and cafes.
The property has so much charm and privacy, you may wish to just enjoy the open fire, music, and reading or writing your next novel. RIVERHOUSE has a self contained kitchen, so staying in, is easy.
So Howqua Dale continues to this day – a genuine getaway from the cities where guests revive, refresh, rejuvenate in good company with friends or content in time spent away alone.
So many guests have cherished Howqua Dale, and it is a pleasure to welcome you back to RIVERHOUSE, to gather with friends to celebrate birthdays, family reunions, ski weekends, anniversaries, or small weddings. New guests are welcome to experience Howqua Dale’s uniqueness.
