From a crisp dawn landing in Jo'burg you are immediately whisked off in small aircraft. Descending out of vast African skies, land in the St Lucia Wetlands amongst a dazzle of zebras and a journey of giraffes. From that moment to the last - on jeeps and planes - in game reserves, stunningly appointed lodges, tented camps, elegant country houses - become totally immersed in the African experience in all its complexity.
Over 23 days, be awed by the majesty of game, humbled by life and history in the townships, seduced by the beauty of the Cape and its sumptuous winelands, challenged by the infinite enormity and emptiness of the saltpans, surprised by the overall quality of cuisine and service, confounded by the sociological and political conundrums, and smitten with the sheer breathtaking diversity of it all.
